After 352 days since my last triathlon (middle distance Bauer Triathlon 2021 in Sweden), the Olympic Distance Linköping Triathlon began sharply at 12:15PM, in a sunny yet somehow windy National Day of Sweden (June 6th). A beautiful swim portion of 1500 meters divided into two laps started at Stångån, the canal/river that runs through Linköping, which I managed to complete in 26 minutes. The bike leg of 40 km, divided onto 6 laps, required technical skills at some portions, including some paved sections around the city center – a really enjoyable bike course anyway, with lots of spectators shouting everywhere! After pedaling for 71 minutes, I jumped out of the bike and began the run leg (10 km onto 4 laps) with very positive sensations and plenty of energy. I completed the 10 km in 37:39, with the 3rd best run time among the participants – not bad! I finished in 6th place overall, with a total time of 2h19’45”. I really enjoyed this race, so I hope we can make it next year again! The Vätternrundan awaits now…
